Dinner Stories returns to Comedy Republic Bar in Melbourne on Monday 23 November 2026 at 19:30. Host Damian Callinan plays the maître d’ in a comedy format built around stories, improvisation and an imaginary three-course dinner.

A restaurant made from stories

Comedians tell true stories linked to a monthly theme, while improvisers play the waiting staff. Short improvised scenes grow from the audience’s menu suggestions. No meal is served as part of the performance. November’s guest lineup has not been announced, and the published duration is 100 minutes. The series also lists a separate December performance.

Tickets and the audience policy

The advertised ticket price is A$18 through Comedy Republic. Select the 23 November session and confirm any fees and availability before paying. Tickets are general admission, with no allocated seats. The event is listed for all ages, but anyone under 18 must attend with a parent or responsible adult because the venue is licensed.

The bar is upstairs

The show takes place in the bar at 231 Bourke Street, one level below the theatre. There are 22 steps from the entrance to the bar, and the venue has no wheelchair access. Discuss any other access needs with the team before booking. If coming with friends, enter together to make group seating easier.
